Northumberland Realtor achieves #2 position in all of Canada in 2011

Tony Pulla honoured in recent RE/MAX awards

April 27, 2011, Cobourg – Tony Pulla, Northumberland County’s Leading Realtor was recently presented the Chairman’s Club Award honouring top performers in the RE/MAX family of Real Estate agents. Specifically Tony achieved the number 2 position in the Top 3 teams across Canada within the combined transaction category for his sales performance for 2010. Pulla attributes his success to knowing the neighbourhood. “I love this area and have made it not only my home, but my place of business for over 40 years. It’s a long time to be in business, but I love it”, says Pulla.

Tony Pulla repositioned his business through 2010 with the motto “Pulla knows the neighbourhood” and he has good reason for saying so. Last year Pulla sold the lion’s share of properties and as he says “often, I’ve sold a home several times and in some cases I sold it to subsequent generations. It is a wonderful experience to put people into starter homes, move them along to larger family homes and later move them back to a smaller home once they have decided to downsize”, Pulla continues, “this is a lifecycle that I have been fortunate to witness over and over”.

With a soft economy and stable inventory of home listings, Pulla is determined to maintain a leading roll in 2011. “It’s a challenging market, people are looking to buy in this region, it’s very popular, especially to those moving from the GTA. However, local home owners’ expectations result in higher pricing and the negotiating process becomes protracted and in some cases stalls“, said Pulla. “We are all too familiar with the investments people have made and that a home is typically the largest asset they have, but the market will usually dictate the selling price so it comes down to how motivated home owners are."

Pulla concedes that people want to move to small town Ontario and small villages such as Grafton, Colborne, Warkworth and Brighton because they hold their country-charm while Cobourg and Port Hope offer an array of beautiful homes, condominium living, unparalleled amenities and optimum value – even in today’s market. Lower interest rates are the major attractor to home purchase, “you’ve heard it before, why rent when you can buy” says Pulla, “and with these interest rates it only makes sense”. The Pulla Team is working hard to make 2011 better than last year.
